Commencement speaker Dr Kethoser Kevichusa with valedictorian class Akhumla Sangtam at the 4th Graduation Day of Tetso College, Dimapur held on July 15.
Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): Tetso College held its commencement ceremony for the outgoing Class of 2022 with Dr Kethoser (Aniu) Kevichusa as the commencement speaker on July 15. Altogether, 351 candidates from various disciplines received baccalaureate degrees for the completion of their respective courses, a press release from the college stated.
Dr Kevichusa elucidated upon the meaning of the word ‘commencement’ and how though as a ceremony it is seen as a conclusion, it actually means ‘to begin something.’ He also spoke of King David from the Bible and the importance of servanthood and service and how witnessing for the Lord need not necessarily be only by those fully involved in Christian ministry. He encouraged believing students to continue witnessing their faith whether in the religious or secular sphere.
Dr. Hewasa Lorin in the principal’s address encouraged the students to take the “Tetso Advantage” to continue achieving success in their future pursuits. She exhorted the students to take the sum of all the experiences they have had at Tetso to keep striving for excellence (Tetso’s motto), to keep being “committed and relentless” towards their aspirations and to keep “dreaming,” “thinking,” and especially “doing.” Dr. Lorin concluded her address by highlighting the importance of nurturing a like-minded community of Tetso alumni and to keep rooting for all within it. Akhumla Sangtam, the class valedictorian gave the valedictorian speech.
