Singrijan, September 3 (MExN): The Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA organized a workshop for teachers under the theme, ‘being an affectionate teacher’ in Government Hr Sec School (GHSS), Singrijan on September 3. It was attended by 36 participants.

A press note stated here that Rev Fr (Dr) Peter Salew, SDB, Director, Don Bosco Youth & Educational Services and his team facilitated the workshop. Topics on ‘developing effective facilitating skills’ and ‘effective teaching methodologies’ were highlighted during the workshop.

The resource person stressed upon the fact that in order to impart quality education to children, there must be co-relation between students and the teacher. ‘It is not just the infrastructure but the quality of teachers in imparting quality education to the students.’ I have encouraged the teachers to know their children well and be a good facilitator by having the experience of writing and delivering training, excellent communication and presentation skills, good interpersonal and management skills, analytical and motivating skills.

Earlier, the welcome note was delivered by Aienla Longkumer, Principal, GHSS Singrijan. She expressed gratitude to Child Friendly Dimapur, AIDA, for the intervention in their institution and for taking the initiative to capacitate the students by forming the Child Rights Club and motivating the teachers as well to be an affectionate teacher through the workshop.
