NPP state team with Waromung Unit team on September 16.
Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): NPP Nagaland State installed the Warumong Unit of the party under 29 Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency of Mokokchung district during its second tour to the district on September 16. A consultative meeting was also held on the occasion, according to a press release received here on Sunday.
Imkongsashi will be leading the new team of Warumong as its Unit President along with other office bearers. The team from Warumong thanked the State Team for taking the initiative of installing the unit and for personally visiting the village for the induction of the new team. According to them, this act of the State Team shows their concern for development of the grassroots levels of the party which will surely boost the confidence of the party workers, the release stated.
According to the release, the Warumong unit also stated that it is now time for people of Nagaland to realize that the people of the villages should decide in whose favor they should vote and who will govern them fruitfully. “They also cautioned that people should not cast votes in favor of fair-weather leaders who seek for opportunities and votes only during the elections and for their selfish motives without bringing about any development and thus ignoring their constituencies. Some of the senior leaders also expressed that it is high time that the people of Nagaland should go for reformation rather than choosing leaders who do not perform at all,” the release stated.
While addressing the gathering, State NPP President Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema stated that, in politics, ‘there were no good or bad parties and it is the leaders and the members who determine the image of the party.’ Emphasizing on the need to have good leaders, I expressed that good leaders will bring about all round development at all the levels.
According to him, NPP is a party set up and led by leaders from the North East for the progress and benefit of the people of the region. He stated that it is the only party from the North East to have achieved a National Party’s stature and highlighted that NPP is a people oriented party based on the ideology laid down by its founder PA Sangma and look up to uncorrupted and leaders of integrity like Conrad K. Sangma.
He further called upon the newly inducted members to work in close coordination with the District and State team and to choose capable leaders, while also asking them to be loyal to the party’s ethics and principles. I exuded positive confidence that some members from other parties are shortly going to resign en masse and join the NPP as they consider NPP as the best alternative national political party, the release stated.
I concluded on a positive hope that the party’s motto of ‘One Voice One North East’ will surely take the region, especially the state of Nagaland, forward in the future.
The other speakers during the occasion included Lima Longchar, State Advisor-cum-Convenor, Mokokchung District; Ranjit Singhvi, State Advisor for Minority Cell; Jonathan Lemtur, NPYF President, Mokokchung District; and Pangerlemba Aier.
