Incorporating a mixed variety of menus to choose from while maintaining a good price point as well, ‘Meat & Eat’ (ME), known as a ‘farm to fork’ fast-food family restaurant opened its first outlet in Nagaland at Circular Road, Dimapur on June 17.

Owner of the store, M Krose shared with The Morung Express that the franchise is an Indian brand based in Bangalore, Karnataka as part of the Kavi Group. It has over 250 stores located across the country including in four of the North-Eastern states namely, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Manipur as well.

Krose said that ME serves a variety of fresh and hygienic vegetarian and non-vegetarian fast-food options for the customers to choose from.

While the company ships all its meat products from poultry farms located in Bangalore, Krose explained that this is in order to comply with strict quality control rules laid out by the firm itself. “They have their own parents stock (male and female chickens), hatchery, feed mill, processing unit, central kitchen, logistics, Research and Development (R&D) and chicken farms,” he stated.

Krose also notes that “we have a total of seven local employees currently working at the store including the manager and supervisor in-charge so it is somewhat a means towards generating employment for the youth of Dimapur.”

Moreover, the owner has stated the store will be looking at options to provide home delivery service for the customers in the near future. “If the response here in Dimapur is good, then the company is looking to branch out into other towns such as Chümoukedima, Kohima and Mokokchung too,” he discloses.

The special invitee, Rev Zhabu Terhuja, Pastor, Medziphema Town Baptist Church ‘A’, offered a prayer during the formal opening.
