Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Celebrating past achievements in the service of humanity, Lions Club of Dimapur (LCD) commemorated its 50th anniversary at the club premises in Midland, Dimapur, on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the past international director, Raju V Manwani, lauded the Lions club Dimapur for their immense contribution towards the society. He has encouraged members to continue their service by taking extra miles for the uplift of the downtrodden section with more vigor and dedication. He also encouraged the members to be willing to learn and understand the plight of those people in order to bring about an egalitarian society.
He further mentioned that people must be positive, humble, patient, and learn to forgive and ask for forgiveness to move forward in a society.
Delivering a short speech, the deputy commissioner of Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, appreciated the club for their contributions toward the society through various activities. Jaiswal also paid tribute to the pioneers for their contribution towards building a just society. He has further sought for a collaborative effort to make Dimapur a better place to live.
Meanwhile, LCD president, Vikash Maheswari, recounted the journey undertaken by the club for the cause of humanity. Maheswari has attributed the support from the residents of Dimapur for all the achievements made in the past. He further affirmed to continue working for the public even in the days to come.
The program was attended by all the Lion Club members, district governor Rima Sharma Barwa and past district governor, Lalita R Khandaria.
